I like to work example problems to help clarify mathematical processes. I have been studying mathematics for three years at Mississippi State University. I currently work in our math lab where I help students with their homework and quizzes on maths ranging from intermediate algebra to calculus. I also work in our Learning Center where I tutor students one-on-one with similar math subjects.

My background is fairly well-rounded. In high school I went to the Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) and tutored high school students in the community in math and reading, as well as ESL. Also, part of the GSSM curriculum required students to do summer research at a 4-year institution in South Carolina. I did behavioral neuroscience research at USC. My interests then lead me to attend USC for college, and I went there for two years with a double major: English and Psychology. I am a firm believer in relating material to real-world examples. I have found that many students are over-whelmed by material and do not see any application for the material, and thus they do not have the desire needed to absorb the material. I strive to make the material fun and break it down to small units so that it is easily absorbed. I have spent 10 years in college academia resulting in a PhD as my terminal degree. Through my studies, I have acquired an in-depth knowledge of statistics, molecular biology, genetics, ecology, and bioinformatics to complete this degree.
