I have studied Spanish for 6 years now. I am confident in my speaking, listening and writing skills. My reading skills are a little weaker than the rest of my skills. I spent a couple weeks in Spain and Mexico, not studying but certainly using my language skills. I will be certified to teach K-12. I believe that the earlier one starts learning a language, the easier it will be for them and the quicker they will learn. I've been informally teaching for around 7 years, starting with private percussion lessons and high school drumline instruction and most recently tutoring through the Migrant Education Program in the subject areas of English as a Second Language, math, science, and Spanish. I believe in taking a casual approach in tutoring. From previous experience, I have found that many times students understand the material but tend to get flustered in a classroom environment.
