Teaching is not only my passion but my calling. Having had the opportunity to teach both fifth and second grade specializing in reading I have learned very helpful techniques. A Little Bit About Me...

By earning a duel BA in Spanish and Linguistics and a MA in Applied Linguistics, I have spent an extensive amount of time researching teaching methods and learning styles pertaining to first and second language acquisition. Understanding these learning styles allows me to relate to a wide range of students and discover what works best on an individual basis. For the past ten years, I have been teaching High School English. I have taught grades 9-12 in Literature, Composition and Standards of Learning in preparation for the state exams. I have taught inclusion classes involving students with numerous learning styles and have always met and exceeded the expectations of their parents.
I am a very motivating person and tend to use humor as a method of teaching. I teach to and with the child and never down to him/her. I break large components into their simplest forms so that a child learns to take things one step at a time and not feel overwhelmed.
