As the second oldest of six kids I have a lot of at-home experience in tutoring. With a BA in Biology I feel very equipped to teach children in sciences. I like to be interactive- when I'm teaching I prefer to work through a problem with a student together the first time, letting the student more or less watch me. The second time through, we approach the problem with a little more weight placed on the student. The third time I ask the student to attempt the problem on his/her own, and I'm available for questions.

As a graduate of the University of Alabama, I have had several experiences within the classroom. Throughout my student teaching, I have worked with grades K, 2, 3, and 5. After graduating, I began substituting for all elementary grade levels. My substituting experiences led to a maternity leave position in a third grade classroom.
