I am a type of teacher who like to focus in on both what the students knows and what they don't know. After the assessment, I try to pull those two parts together so that they can effectively understand concepts in a wholistic picture. I have taught all age levels and I am very confident and competent at what I do. As a graduate of Grove Ciry College in Grove City, Pennsylvania, I hold a BA in Mathematics and well as a secondary education teaching certificate. I have loved teaching and still keep in touch with many of my former students. In fact, I have taught many of their children! I seem to end up helping students with more than just their homework. I have always had a talent for understanding that not everyone "gets it the first time." I had much trouble with science myself. When I was responsible for hiring teachers, I usually wasn't a fan of those with 4.0 averages. I was afraid they wouldn't have the patience to answer the same question 10 times! I always try many methods (visual, auditory, tactile) until we find the right one for my students. I consider it my personal challenge to be able to get that "aha" out of a young person.

I believe in using a multi- modality approach to teaching. The more senses involved, the more likely one will remember. I also believe in trying to make material needed to learn to seem approachable or pertinent in their lives.(No matter the age) Anyone can learn if it is presented in a way that makes it exciting and fun. You must let them give a sense of accomplishment and success.
I graduated from college with certification to teach grades 1-12. Do to the job market at that time, I was unable to get a full time teaching job. I substituted and then tutored for 2 years. I then worked various jobs working with the public. Although much of work experience is not in the teaching field, I have worked with people in many ways to reach their full potential and can relate to them on a level that they will comprehend.
