My comments on tutoring Testing Skills : Vocabulary and sentence structure are the foundations for ASL. The way in which you apply your skills will represent your skill set.

Start with the basics. Assess what level the student is at and then work that into a more challenging structure to pertain to what the student would like to accomplish.
I have been immersed the field of interpreting since 2008. Having graduated out of Bloomsburg University in 2012, over the last two years I have been professionally interpreting in three states and in various fields. My work ranges from public school classes, college lectures, medical appointments, religious sermons, platform events and government assignments. Structured yet creative Reading Specialist.

My comments on tutoring Testing Skills : I can teach the skills needed to be successful on a test.

The first strategy that I use is building a relationship with the student by getting to know who they are, what there favorite things are, subjects, goals etc... This helps me discover what strategies I can use to help them learn. I also try to discover which learning method works best. Are they visual or auditory learner? Do they learn by having things taught step by step, or do they learn through visual or read aloud examples? I believe that every student has the ability to learn and to succeed; it is about finding the best strategy and providing that extra support. Being that advocate for students is the reason I went into school counseling.
