I believe that every student is different and not ever student learns the same. I like emphasis on visual education and demonstrations because they stick with you much longer than technical memorization of topics. Real life application is crucial to me as well, if you want to be pre med I like to tutor you with problems that are applicable to that field. I.e.) nursing drop rates for chem and math, half life's, unit conversations, logic skills and diagnostics, etc

My educational background is in chemistry and chemical engineering. My professional experience is in manufacturing, specifically in the area of specialty chemicals. I enjoyed the fast pace of the manufacturing environment, but have since moved from the Detroit area to the Springfield, MO, area. I am now in the process of obtaining my initial teaching certificate through ABCTE, which is a MO DESE-approved route for initial teaching certification. I am a Special Education teacher by education and by choice. My teaching style is one that can be changed at any time to answer the learning style of a student. I am a hands-on, multiple teaching style person because I know that students do not learn by using just one learning style. If I said that I just had one teaching style, then I would only be teaching to one type of student and that is detrimental to all students. My teaching style depends on the person I am working with and the subject matter we are exploring. Everyone learns differently and that needs to be respected and appreciated.
