A Little Bit About Me...

I was born and raised in Japan. I spend 13 years in Japan and I moved to America. Japanese is my first language, so that I know Japanese more than anybody else in Cleveland. I can teach from really begining to super high level. Compare to other tutor, I have less experience teaching things. But I will work hard as I can. I'm also good at math and I love teaching math to other people, so if you are struggling any Algebra problems ask me. I'm really friendly person and I love helping people.

My comments on tutoring Japanese : I studied for a month in Osaka, Japan, to augment my university Japanese classes. Native speakers certify that my pronunciation is extremely native-like

I employ the Socratic method of asking lots and lots of questions. I see a tutorial as not a time for a student to soak up information, but to engage the mind and use the tools he has already been given. Of course, if a student truly doesn't know something crucial, I will tell him. I always try to make my instruction at least a little bit funny, and to connect the material to the student's interests, because these factors are known to enhance learning.
I have five years' experience as a writing tutor at my university, during which I wrote and presented papers at multiple regional conferences for university writing tutors. I rose to become one of the most respected and requested tutors out of my peers. I many credit hours of pedagogy and teaching methodology classes, both for Teaching ESL and Latin, and a semester of student teaching under my belt.
