I have taught various German language, culture, and history courses for 13 years in Higher Education (Portland State University, Oregon, the University of Texas at Austin, and Berea College, Kentucky). I have also been teaching community education courses in German at Lane Community College in Eugene, OR for 2 years. A Little Bit About Me...

My bachelor's degree from University of Missouri-Columbia is in Political Science. I also minored in Art History. I have done extensive research in each of these areas and feel competent to teach or tutor either. In 2005 I joined the U.S. Peace Corps as a TEFL teacher. I taught English to Mongolian students from elementary school to adults in both classroom and individual settings for two years. Other areas I have in-depth knowledge in are English Literature, Poetry, Philosophy and Psychology. I am currently refreshing and adding to the French I studied at the university and feel that I could competently teach it.

I have always seen teaching as a matter of reigniting a natural curiosity which all students have, and directing it toward an academic subject.
