A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher, I believed strongly in cooperative learning where peers are taught to teach each other. I enjoy one on one teaching where I can focus on a students' needs much easier. I believe that hands on experiences are beneficial to all students. Each child learns differently and I like to focus on and teach according to their learning style.
I graduated from UW Oshkosh with a BS degree in Elementary Education and English. I have been a teacher for 18 years. I have taught all subjects to PreK, second and third grades. I have also worked with At risk high school students. I am currently a professional caregiver and activity aide in a group home with individuals who have physical and cognitive disabilities.

I taught first grade and worked as the grade level chair my second year, coordinating assessments and implementing new grade level assessments. I worked with urban students in a low income school. I also have a minor in special education and have worked as an in home therapist for children with Autism. I have my CPR/First Aid/ AED certification until 2013.

I then went on to get a degree in education from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. I taught several years at the preschool level.
