I have been a tutor for over four years now. I work with all ages, at Sullivan Learning Company I work with K-8th, at Clovis High School I worked with high school students and I have done Spanish tutoring on my own with adults. I also teach Sunday school so I am accustomed of working with both individuals and big groups.
I work at the level of the student and I like setting goals with my students to create motivation. I am good with different teaching methods, whatever works best for the the student to learn.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since I'm not a teacher and don't follow a schedule or have designated hours, I feel like I can be a lot more patient and easy going with students. I'd like to pride myself in how well I can take a complex idea and break it down into its sub-parts and explain it simplistically. While in a class, students may not get the attention they require, which is why I like working one on one or in small groups as that way I can get a feel of what each student needs to meet his/her potential.

I love seeing students become excited about learning and becoming self-directed learners. Oftentimes, this means that the student takes the lead and I am there mainly to provide encouragement and structure. I try to provide a safe environment for learning. I believe there are no dumb questions and it is OK to make mistakes. I encourage students to brainstorm and think outside the box.
