Since I'm not a teacher and don't follow a schedule or have designated hours, I feel like I can be a lot more patient and easy going with students. I'd like to pride myself in how well I can take a complex idea and break it down into its sub-parts and explain it simplistically. Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, and writing has always come naturally for me. However, I quickly realized for some these two subjects were dreaded. Each student is different in how he/she looks at the world and processes information. So I try to find ways that will help each one be successful in these areas. The key is to find subjects and activities of interest to the student, so he/she can learn skills and then apply them to required assignments.

I earned two Associate's degree while playing volleyball for my college and I maintained a 3.5 GPA. I was captain of my team. I can lead without dictating and I am a good listener. I have tutored a wide range of people, ranging from high school students to nurses. I will earn my BS in Biology this year from Fresno State. I am passionate about the field of biology and am involved in undergraduate research at the university.
