I feel that I do my best work with Elementary age children. I like to make education fun and easily accessible. I love using games and hands on activities to teach lessons. My 5th grade teacher made such an impact on me that I have kept her on as a huge part of my life and I want to be that way with my students. I enjoy working with younger generations. I believe stimulating intelligence and creativity in younger people sometimes requires thinking outside the box. Following instructions and completing homework certainly is a priority, as that prepares for adulthood. Going beyond that creates a desire for knowledge, and instigates entrepreneurship at a younger stage by developing desire for leadership and hunger for success. An area of extensive experience was with the special needs students at both Linganore and Walkersville High schools. I taught a class in self-esteem skills for the SUCCESS program for Frederick County. I had a fair amount of experience with the ESOL program in Montgomery County in 2007. Prior to this, I had worked with the Public LibraryLiteracy program in Kansas City, Mo. as well as taught creativity and self-esteem classes.
