My comments on tutoring Entrance Exams : Exams all come down to prep and organization!

I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. In addition, after school hours were spent with two students taking AP Biology classes. Both students achieved a 4 or higher on their placement exams. My teaching style adapts to the students current level of knowledge. I always model 2 or 3 problems step by step before asking the student to try a problem. As an avid tutor I was required to follow the avid tutoring format. Before I joined the program I was unaware of what exactly this entailed. The avid program suggests groups of 5-7 students gather around a table with the avid tutor being placed at the head of the table.
