I have numerous years of experience substitute teaching. In the Belvidere, Il District I taught mainly special education student. In the 2003-2004 school year I taught half time physical education to at risk high school students at the Regional Learning Center in Rockford. While working as a swimming instructor at J.J. Champions in Pecitonica I taught an Autistic boy how to swim. In May 2012, I received my bachelors degree in English with a Literature Emphasis and a minor in Writing. I graduated with a 3.6 g.p.a. (Cum Laude Honors.) I love teaching children and being able to see them learn. It is awesome to see and hear when they finally "get it" or when they understand something that I taught them. Moreover, when a student gives you an answer to a question and uses an example of something that you taught them earlier, it really shows you how quickly they can pick things up. My teaching "style" is very open--I will have an outline and while I am presenting I will sometimes ask for examples from the students to help get us through the outline together. You can't speak AT them; you have to involve the students in what you are teaching them.
