I have numerous years of experience substitute teaching. In the Belvidere, Il District I taught mainly special education student. In the 2003-2004 school year I taught half time physical education to at risk high school students at the Regional Learning Center in Rockford. While working as a swimming instructor at J.J. Champions in Pecitonica I taught an Autistic boy how to swim. PHILOSOPHY The key to education is to love what you do and I love what I do. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing students' progress. As I teach with love and I create a fun environment for students (using games to practice the language), students become involved and interested in the classroom. I was an in-school suspension teacher for two years at Durand High and Middle School, helping students get caught up on their pre-algebra, social studies, science, English and Spanish homework. Previously to becoming a teacher I worked in industry as a project manager or assistant for different companies, using Spanish occasionally. Certified Teacher Looking To Help Others As A Tutor

I have a wide variety of educational experience and have recently crossed over into the realm of education as a Special Education/At-Risk teacher with the Edgerton School District. My current position has me utilizing differentiated instruction and modification techniques with nearly 50 students throughout the day which will enhance my ability to tutor others who need help. My particular areas of expertise are Social Studies, Spanish, English and ASVAB/GED test prep. I am weaker in Math and Science.
I prefer to have materials prepared prior to any tutoring session so communication ahead of time will be essential. The description of my teaching style changes with each new class I receive. I am a strong believer in the Multiple Intelligence approach to teaching, as individual students learn in many different ways. In my classroom, expectations are explained at the beginning of each lesson.
