My comments on tutoring Marine Biology : Worked at 2 aquarium facilities (AZA accredited) will provide information on request.

Most of my training has been hands on experience. I consider this a bonus as it promotes practical application. I did attend Boston University in search of a biology degree and marine biology minor. Personal circumstances made completion unavailable. I have also received certification in varoius animal care related fields and also hold the status of First Responder for Marine Animal Strandings with the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
I like to use working examples of principles. I also embrace the "why" behind the facts as a method of reinforcing knowledge gained.

Ever since I was little I loved helping other people with school. I spent my summer with my aunt teaching English to Spanish speaking natives and my cousins. Even though I can teach well with large groups I have always felt a child learns best one-on-one. It eliminates competition and helps the child develop confidence in himself and the desire to learn. I like to find the area where a child is struggling and come up with a creative fun way that allows them to learn but also the encourages them to continue working on their own when I am not there. I enjoy working with students in all settings, including small groups and one-to-one. My personal specialty was in one-to-one math and science tutoring. Students do best when they have a goal to achieve. My goal with each child is to use positive reinforcement and encouragement. I try to consider each child's individual learning styles when working with them. I greatly enjoy working with my patients and teaching them about their diagnosis. I am a firm believer in that every child can succeed in whatever they strive for if they are given proper instruction. Even difficult learners can succeed if the proper teaching methods are employed. Different students have different stimuli that they respond to. There is no one cookie cutter mold for teaching. After all, each student is an individual and responds in their own way.
