By asking the right questions, one can help the student define his problem, form a plan for the solution, carry out the plan, and examine the result. Studies show that people who are used to success are more likely to try again and again when confronted with a challenge. While completing my BS in engineering, I spent two years tutoring math, physics, and optics. During my senior year I was also able to teach a portion of two terms of the freshman optics class.
