A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a bachelor degree in Psychology. I have also earned a certificate in accounting. I have participated in after school programs where I assisted students with their homework, Math and reading. I currently work as a crisis assistant in the school system, which sometimes require assisting the students with understanding their assignments and helping them complete the tasks. My current job allows me to identify challenges that a student may have and create strategies to help students stay on task.
I enjoy working with children. My desire is to see all children reach their maximum potential in life. Education is very important. Every student should have the opportunity to strive and excel. I love working with children. I've taught acting at the Durham Arts Council for three years. The duties from that position included directing students in performances which I helped them create. The plays were written around themes chosen by the camp director. So, in essence, the children and I would research those themes and develop stories which I would then turn into plays using my expertise. Those plays would be performed every two weeks for the entire summer. I was responsible for preparing three classes for this project simultaneously.
From my experiences teaching acting in Durham NC I know education can I know that learning can be fun. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill last Spring with a BA in Anthropology and a minor in both Creative Writing and Chinese. I graduated with a 3.99gpa and Highest Honors. I was selected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society in my Senior Year. That year I also won the top individual creative writing prize from the University Chancellor.
