Brazilian Portuguese Hi! I'm a native Brazilian from the city of Sao Paulo. I have a passion to teach and therefore I can say that I'm a very dedicated teacher. I have 15 years of experience teaching, interpreting and translating Portuguese. I worked at a school of languages and as a freelancer teaching individuals, groups and companies. Also I worked as a interpreter/translator at seminars, conventions and at major companies such as Lucent Technologies, McGraw-Hills - Business Week Magazine and others. Normally I start my lessons with phonetics. I think this is the basis of learning Portuguese and it will give you confidence to keep on learning. Then I will introduce reading (you will be amazed how phonetics can help you with this!), grammar, vocabulary and conversation. Of course, I can add any other subject such as vocabulary for business, knowledge of the culture, customs, etc.

My name is Veridiana, I am Brazilian, currently PhD student in environmental analysis and Territorial Dynamics at the State University of Campinas, Unicamp, Brazil, and I am a professor in the Colégio Visconde de Porto Seguro. My thesis will examinate the "pockets of security" (do not know what the technical term used in the U.S. for this new way of living), it is a continuation of my master's thesis "Changes in the form of occupation of urban space in Valinhos- SP: The growth of gated communities ", available in http://cutter.unicamp.br/document/?code=vtls000440 439. I finished my credits in July 2011 and I'm beginning the process of writing the thesis, which in principle would be made only in Brazil, however, due to my husband being transferred to the U.S, we are moving to the city of Plano, Texas.
