My comments on tutoring German : I have two years' experience with German. I took German while at University and I can easily guide someone through the basics of German Conversation and Grammar.

I love sharing my knowledge with others, whether it's in a group or one-on-one. I make sure that my pupils can easily comprehend what is going on during the lesson. Questions are a good indicator that active comprehension is taking place, and I am there to make sure that any and all questions that are to be had will be answered. I'm not one to "spoon-feed" per se, but if specialized attention is needed on a specific topic or subject, I am there to help with any and all questions that may arise during the process.
During my high school and university careers, I have focused primarily on languages and language acquisition. I have over seven years of experience in the German language, including a stint of living in Germany for 4 months. I also completed a German Studies minor from NC State. I can help prepare someone for an AP German exam, as I passed with a 4 on my exam in 2010.
I am a laid-back, but persistent teacher who has an arsenal of techniques (which I learned from some of the best German teachers). In addition to using styles that worked for me when I was learning German, I have my own style and have always worked well with middle- and high-schoolers. Due to the fact that I was born and raised in Germany and have since lived in various foreign countries, I have adopted sensitivity when it comes to culture and characters. As a teacher I learned to be very observant before implementing a specific teaching strategy. Not only does every child have a different character, but they are all brought up in different surroundings and family constellations.
