Setting realistic and obtainable goals with the student is a key factor to success. Measuring and documenting progress allows student, teacher, and family to see a visual record of growth. Addressing multiple intelligences and multiple learning styles are essential for struggling students. Finding a student's best mode of learning increases self-esteem and time on task.
I have 20 plus years of teaching experience. I have worked with students from pre-school age to adults. I have taught students with a variety of disabilities and functioning levels from severely impaired to gifted.

I have an associates degree and a bachelor's degree. My bachelor's degree is in Psychology with a minor in Social Science. I have worked for the Alabama public school system as a teacher's aide in special edcuation for the last seven years. I am currently working towards obtaining my master's degree in education. I have learned different ways in which to help students who struggle in reading fluently, reading decoding, and reading comprehension.
I enjoy teaching and working with students from all types of academic and cultural backgrounds. My desire is to help each child succeed to the best of his or her ability. I also desire to instill self confidence in each student. I believe that each child has potential and can learn.
