My teaching style is hands on and practical.
My name is Castain Alfred, III. I have been working with students for about five years now from a Teacher to a Counselor role. I believe all students are special and capable of much success in life. Every student has the capabilities of becoming a LEADER. In the past I worked in the following roles; SPED Teacher Assistant, Guidance Counselor, Tutor, After School Worker, and Substitute Teacher. I've never really tutored before outside of helping my classmates, but even still I excel when it comes to teaching others tactics for reading and writing. I am extremely patient and studious when it comes to helping others learn, especially children. I graduated a year earlier than I should have due to skipping a grade because of my reading and writing skills. I took two years of AP English (Rhetoric and Literature) in high school and scored a 4 (out of a maximum score of 5) on my AP exam. I also scored around a 1700 on my SAT, mainly excelling in the Reading and Writing portion.

My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : Experience in teaching Kindergarten and First grade reading.

I got my B.S. degree in Elementary Education in 2004. I am very eager to help children learn. Children are like sponges, they soak up a wealth of information at such a young age. My experience consists of working as a long term sub for third and fourth grades in Fredericktown, Missouri. I have also substituted in the Pasadena ISD, Channelview ISD, and Sheldon ISD. I have taught all ages. From Kindergarten to High School students. My degree concentration is in history. But, I prefer to help with reading, phonics, vocabulary, spelling, and math.
Each child has different learning abilities. Hands on is the best type of teaching.
