I had been a professor at a university in China for five years, a teaching assistant/tutor at Brigham Young University for five years and an adjunct professor at Utah Valley University for one semester. While attending USU, I spent two semesters working at Wilson Elementary School. I was a teachers aide in the special education classroom. I provided instruction and practice in reading, writing, and arithmetic. My first school of employment was a residential treatment center for troubled youth.
