A Little Bit About Me...

I have been in the field of education for approximately 14 years of which the last 8 years have been special education. I have worked with students of all ages, on all skill levels and many with learning disabilities through 8th grade. I was a high school art teacher for two years and I worked in a college library for four years. I am able and willing to work with students of all ages. My emphasis has been the field of language arts; however, I taught middle school math for students with learning disabilities for two years. I have a BA in liberal arts from Vassar College and a MS in Education from Queens College, which I earned through the full-time work/part-time study New York City Teaching Fellowship. My love of teaching is stimulated most when working with students who require the most assistance. Through my study in Educational Psychology, I have learned that all students have their own learning styles; I am able to quickly recognize students' learning styles and fashion my teaching style to what works best for each student.
