My teaching style reflects an approach that is hands-on, fun and engaging, uses humor, and lastly perseverance. I have a lifelong passion for working with children struggling to learn.
I am a recently retired special education teacher with 27 years classroom experience. I am currently a substitute teacher in the public schools. I have vast experience working with special needs students as well as struggling regular education students. I love teaching and seeing students understand.

As a person who is passionate about children, I have worked alongside them for four years. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience has taught me that all children can learn, but often in different ways. Finding the mode of learning for each student is the key. I try to find different ways to present the information until the child understands. It is also important to review and practice in order to reach the learning goal. I am a patient teacher and respectful of each student.
Most of my teaching experience has been in classrooms with students from the toddler stage through 6th grade. My favorite areas to teach are phonics, reading, and elementary math. However, in the passed five years I have tutored pre-school age through adults in many areas, and homeschooled all areas in elementary and middle school. I also taught English as a second language.
