A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate of Santa Clara University. I have a lot of experience in tutoring students in math of all different ages. Being a math major, a lot of my friends in college would come to me for math help when they weren't comfortable with getting a random tutor. My comments on tutoring Calculus I : Calculus is fundamental to the study of Physics. I am exteremely proficient in this form of mathematics.

Throughout high school I tutored students aged 9-14 in a variety of subjects ranging from math to music. I have also tutored informally as a college student, mostly helping coach peers through lower-division physics or math series. In addition, I volunteered for 5 years as a teachers assistent in an elementary and middle school setting, so I understand the dynamics of working with (sometimes large) groups of students.
Problem solving is the best way to learn a technical skill. For instance, in mathematics homework usually consists of a set of problems that the student must solve. I adapt my teaching style to fit the particular student. Some students learn visually, so I draw everything out to show them how to approach a certain problem. For some students, repetition is what helps them understand. For others, they require "hands-on" material to learn, so I come up with a strategy that will best fit your students needs, through one on one instruction.
