I have been a tutor since 2003 where I worked with Sylvan Learning Center before starting my own education consulting service. I have worked in a wide variety of socioeconomic school settings, which makes me quite versatile when it comes to my approach to teaching. I start from the ground-up, first forming a cognitive scaffold for a subject by teaching the very basics. From there we branch off into more and more complex tasks. I have experience with graphic design and animation programs and love to use technology aids whenever possible. When all else fails I draw upon knowledge the student already possesses and attempt to form analogous models that are easier to understand. Very Strong My favorite teaching style is the classical Black Board style that may involve Power Point presentations. I am very patient with my students and like to believe that I have the capability to make every student learn. I did an Undergraduate in Science with an honors in Chemistry, followed by an M.Sc. in Biochemistry and a PhD in Biochemistry. I was actively involved in Cancer Research in the Department of Biochemistry and have authored over 40 publications. Although I have expertise in Chemistry and Biochemistry, I have a passion for Math that includes Algebra 1 &2 , Pre-calculus, and Geometry.
