My comments on tutoring Special Education : I have a soft spot for Special needs students be they Gifted LD. Educable Mentally Handicapped/Challenged Physically challenged or other. No I am not an expert but a person commited to helping people reach their full potential and experience their full dignity I will go the extra mile for these students . I have some special needs that hit very close to home.

I have taught in a wide variety of educational settings. These settings include working in the public schools With Educable Mentally Challenged students,Multilingual classrooms and several self contained elementary classes.I have taught in educational cooperatives, Homeschooled my own children up to college and tutored. I have worked one on one with students who are Gifted , Gifted LD, mainstream, imigrant/ culturally distinct. I love seeing people soar like Eagles
I work best in one on one or small groups. I am capable with larger groups as well. My favorite approach is the Charlotte Mason approach. I have worked with a wide variety of Educational Philosophies/Methods and will draw from them when needed.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have spent 30 years in the educational field providing both guidance and counseling as well as tutoring to children ages five through fourteen. I thoroughly enjoyed being a counselor to children. I also found that tutoring students was equally rewarding. I mostly tutored language arts and reading as I consider grammar a strong point of mine. As a special education teaching assistant I have tutored every level of education with the exception of adults. I am Cpr and first aid certified, as well as CPI certified.
