My comments on tutoring Special Education : I have a soft spot for Special needs students be they Gifted LD. Educable Mentally Handicapped/Challenged Physically challenged or other. No I am not an expert but a person commited to helping people reach their full potential and experience their full dignity I will go the extra mile for these students . I have some special needs that hit very close to home.

I have taught in a wide variety of educational settings. These settings include working in the public schools With Educable Mentally Challenged students,Multilingual classrooms and several self contained elementary classes.I have taught in educational cooperatives, Homeschooled my own children up to college and tutored. I like children to get up and move and learn. All students learn differently and it is up to me to learn what it is and then use that to help them learn.
All through college I Tutored children at-risk and/or having a disability. I determined individual needs and apply a variety of methods to help children learn. As a first grade teaching after school I tutor first grader with reading and math. I like children to learn in a fun way. Students need to get up and learn. Worksheets are not something that I like to do when tutoring. Children sit in a desk all day. They do not want to then go and tutor and sit some more. I like to get the kids up and learning.

I attended college at three different schools, on athletic scholarship in two of them. I earned two bachelor degrees, BA in Philosophy and BA in Political Science. After graduating I spent one semester teaching sciences at an outdoor based alternative middle and elementary school just outside of Austin, TX.
