A Little Bit About Me...

I have over ten years of classroom experience as a professional educator in a variety of settings including the states of Arizona, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C., as well as a two-year stint at an American school for Egyptian students in Cairo, Egypt (Science teacher). I have dual master's degrees and outstanding reading, writing, and communication skills. I have worked with youth in a variety of roles including teacher, coach, tutor, mentor, and youth development specialist and have worked with a diverse group of students ranging from public/private school students in urban and inner city environments as well as at-risk youth. My comments on tutoring Geography : I will assist students with all levels of geography

I work best in one on one or small groups. I am capable with larger groups as well. My favorite approach is the Charlotte Mason approach. I have worked with a wide variety of Educational Philosophies/Methods and will draw from them when needed.
I have taught in a wide variety of educational settings. These settings include working in the public schools With Educable Mentally Challenged students,Multilingual classrooms and several self contained elementary classes.I have taught in educational cooperatives, Homeschooled my own children up to college and tutored. I have worked one on one with students who are Gifted , Gifted LD, mainstream, imigrant/ culturally distinct. I love seeing people soar like Eagles

A Little Bit About Me...

I feel as an educator it is always important to learn from the students before you can teach them. The most necessary factor to success is being able to recognize just how the student learns and be able to take your teaching methods and adjust accordingly. Having had many good professors, teachers and tutors personally, I feel that this approach makes a world of a difference. I do try to mix things up in terms of teaching methods, once the subject seems to be sinking in, just to try to get students used to teachers or tutors who may not operate in this manner.
I have currently earned a bachelors degree, BS Physics, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science.
