A Little Bit About Me...

As a daughter of an elementary education teacher, I have been driven by a passion to teach children in areas where they show need. I am in my second year in Northern Arizona University with junior credits. My major is in Sociology, but I believe that helps me in pin-pointing the most important aspects of helping children individually in different social settings. I have done tutoring before, but never with a school district. I believe that every child has a unique way of learning and I am capable and flexible in showing them the different ways in which they can learn. As a new teacher in Arizona I just finished my first year in teaching in schools around the Yuma area. I was privileged enough to teach many different grades, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses as well as numerous learning levels. I have developed many skills and taken a particular interest in tutoring English and Reading as well as Math and Social Studies. I have gathered much knowledge about all subject areas at the elementary and high school levels. My knowledge, passion, and dedication has helped many students overcome trouble areas and encouraged them to progress farther than they felt they were able to before.
