A Little Bit About Me...

In college, I was taught to organize topics in Math, Science and English, using outlines. This ensured that I studied all of the material presented in class. During my career, I use the same method to grasp difficult concepts. As a technical advisor, I shared my knowledge with clients, answering questions and solving problems. As a tutor, I help my students develop strong expertise. At my children's school, I have worked with kids aged 5 to 11 for several years. We work in groups, or individually. I helped my older daughter with her high school English and Math. Reading classic books is a passion of mine. I express a joy for reading to my students, and stress its importance.

Through my different career experiences I have discovered that my heart is in working with children, and I believe that given the proper environment and support every child is capable of learning and growing. Having tutored and received tutoring myself during times in which I was struggling, I believe that having struggled myself, that I understand from a personal perspective what works best in helping a person succeed.
