Immediately after I earned her Bacherlor’s degree in Accounting and Master’s degree in Taxation at the University of Washington, she joined Ernst & Young LLP as a tax accountant. During my time there, I focused on FAS 109 and corporate tax compliance. My FAS 109 experience includes preparing and reviewing the tax provision piece of the 10-K. If necessary, I separate an idea into simpler terms, and help students learn each term before continuing. I give examples which illustrate a point or demonstrate a procedure. At times, my students write short essays, which I critique for sentence structure, word choice, tense matching, and organization. When a student is reading aloud, I follow along, interjecting if necessary with the correct pronunciation or the proper syllable emphasis.
