I am a very down to earth person especially when it comes to kids. I always try to lighten up the mood and make learning things interesting and fun. I don't like to dismiss when I see a child having trouble in something. Every person has a different way of learning, I try to cater to each of their needs.
I have tutored children in reading last summer. It was one of the most gratifying things I have done. I worked with English as second language children ranging from ages 5 to 13. We used a lesson plan and several activities to help children in achieving their reading level goals. Also, in my undergrad experience, I excelled in writing and was very good with meeting deadlines.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a Fresno State graduate with my BA Degree in Liberal Studies. I'm currently in the Multiple-Subject Credential Program. I have two years experience tutoring by working for the Madera Adult School CBET Program. I tutor all grades and all subjects. I also have tutored for a semester during my Junior year of high school. I am very well rounded in all subject matters like: history, math, English/langauge arts, music, drama, geography and science topics.
My teaching style is very unique. I start off by just getting to know the student and having them get to know and trust me. I then build on that trust factor while helping the students with their homework. I connect well with students and they trust me. A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my high school career I maintained a GPA of at least 3.5. The same can be said for my college career so far. By majoring in Liberal Studies, I have gained an extensive knowledge of teaching methods as well as the ability to teach many different types of learners. I have put this knowledge and ability to use both last semester and this semester by tutoring students at Fresno State. This semester, many of my students have learning disabilities. Last semester, every student I worked with passed the class we were working on.
It is my belief that teaching is an honor and a passion, not a profession. Everyone has a different learning style and teaching to an individual is very important.
