Reading is one of my top subjects! I LOVE to read and would love to teach you all I know. I am not a speed reader, a teacher or have any training other than my personal schooling. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently an instructional aide in a special needs classroom and work with elementary and middle school students. Proficiency is acquired with methodical steps.

My approach is simple: assess the student's academic weaknesses, review the strengths, then teach the new material in order to bridge the content or skill. "Scaffolding" is the best means by which to teach so that the student understands the significance of the lesson. Too often, teachers play sage-on-stage, thereby neglecting to connect what the student already knows with the new material.

Need Piano Lessons?

My teaching style is not entirely concrete, for I feel that it depends on the maturity of the student and willingness to learn the subject at hand. I am very patient when I need to be, and my main goal is to simply make sure each student walks away knowing what they needed to learn.
I am a 19 year old college student who is living in Murrieta for the next few summer months, and attends Cal State Fullerton. Learning can be fun!!

When tutoring, I strive to make lessons engaging, effective and enjoyable. Specifically, I tailor lessons according to an individual student's needs and involve students in a dialogue by asking questions that provoke thought, conversation, and perhaps humor. Because facts and figures are easily looked up in the information age, I place particular emphasis on thinking and on "learning how to learn".
