I am a College Student studying English and Politics

I was a tutor in high school for many elementary and middle school aged children. I am also experienced with writing papers, so I can help anyone who is writing for a college application or essay. I am a very quick learner, so if there is a subject I am not as familiar with I am willing to study it to help a student. My goal is to help students understand the context being taught, as well as teach them the importance of this knowledge. I have often used the phrase "When will I ever need this?" and I have learned later on in life that each subject is important. My teaching style varies from student to student. I like to get to know the student in order to maximize their understanding of the subject. Everybody does learn differently, so I am open to change for that said student.
To be honest I do not really have any experience of being a tutor. I am a senior at Reagan High school and for the most part I tutor other classmates and family members. Mostly recently I broaden my range to elementary to high school. I do very well in mathematics except for geometry, Pre-cal, abd calculus because i am not registered for those classes. Turning your weakness into your strength

I have been tutoring for over seven years, starting with my peers in tenth grade. I have tutored a wide range of subjects, from Geometry through Calculus III, from general computer knowledge through utilizing the advanced functions of Microsoft Access. I have tutored people ranging from my peers to people three times my age, to as young as third graders. My motto has evolved into "Helping those who feel they can not be helped"
I help guide the student along, having them discover much of the information in a trial and error fashion. I tend to use the questions they are struggling with the most, making similar examples, then walking them through these problems and breaking down the problems until the student understands the how the process works.

I have been teaching social studies in Cabarrus County for the past 12 years. I am nationally board certified and have my AP certification in World History. This summer I will be receiving my IB training and will begin teaching AP world history in the IB classroom. I am interested in tutoring specifically in world and AP world history, which I consider my speciality, but am proficient in all social studies classes and can help at any level. A Little Bit About Me...
