A Little Bit About Me...

I have over a decade of experience working with students in diverse settings - from summer camps where I worked as a counselor and director, to a non-profit where I taught science programs to learners of all ages, to a formal classroom setting. I have earned a BS and MS degree in Natural Resources, which reflect my strong math, science, and social science background. Additionally, I have completed certification requirements to teach K-8 in the state of Idaho. I have taught over 10,000 students over the past 10 years.

In 2007 I gained employment with the Eugene, OR school district as a Classified Substitute where I fulfilled a variety of positions; mostly working with IEP students or assisting in Learning Resource Centers. In 2008 I graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in Chinese and a minor in Asian Studies. My master's thesis was on computer-based training. My experience includes teaching end users and other trainers (train the trainer). Classroom training subjects have included using software programs, developing online documentation, writing skills, communications training, policies and so on. Past clients have been Blue Cross Blue Shield, U.S. Navy, Chevron and many more. Further, I have mentored co-workers in the past and enjoy one-on-one coaching very much.
My approach is to incorporate multiple learning styles (visual, auditory and so on). I also like to incorporate skills training as part of a scenario when possible.
