I have always had a knack for the sciences and left the Midwest to follow my love of Marine Biology. While in school, I revisted my interest in the arts (painting, piano, and animation). It was then I realized I was passionate about so many topics and didn't want to limit myself to one thing! I've worked with kids throughout my entire life, whether I was teaching swim lessons, piano lessons, or tutoring. I took Spanish for 4 years in High School use it every chance I get. I am a very fun and energetic person, therefore, my teaching style reflects my personality. I usually use hands on activities to keep the students engaged and allow them to be responsible for their own learning. I also find that this helps them have a better understanding of the subject area and since many people do not like English class very much, my approach helps them have a new respect for the subject. Of course, I do adapt my teaching style to work with each individual student as I and the student see necessary. I believe that the students and I should have a mutual respect for one another. Therefore, I like for them to have a say in their learning and education.
