My goal is to help children in any context that I can. Although I have my sights set on being a pediatric neurologist, my vision encompasses more than this end. I have worked with children from ages 3 to 16 starting from the time that I was a sophomore in high school to the present. I have served a diverse array of roles, such as summer camp counselor, patient care associate at St. Louis Children's Hospital, and a mathematics teacher at an inner city school in St. Louis. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always had a knack for the sciences and left the Midwest to follow my love of Marine Biology. While in school, I revisted my interest in the arts (painting, piano, and animation). It was then I realized I was passionate about so many topics and didn't want to limit myself to one thing! I've worked with kids throughout my entire life, whether I was teaching swim lessons, piano lessons, or tutoring. I took Spanish for 4 years in High School use it every chance I get. A Little Bit About Me...

I have wanted to teach students my entire life. I began tutoring when I went to college. There I tutored my peers in composition and literature. As I continued my college career, I had three semesters where I taught grades 7-12. I received my BS in Education in December of 2007 and began teaching high school English at the sophomore level at a local high school. While working there, I got a job offer closer to home and began that in July of 2008. There I taught 9-12 British Literature, College Composition, Creative Writing, American Literature, and Drama. As a tutor, I understand my responsibility primarily as that of helping children reach their potential. I try to help my students understand concepts they are struggling with in primarily three ways. First, I find what their strengths are and see if I can extend understanding of these concepts to the one's they are struggling with. Secondly, I use many examples of a concept to break complex math down into simpler, concise ideas and problem-solving techniques. Third, I try a number of different conceptual approaches to determine which is the most useful for a particular student.
