With my years of being around and in an educational environment, I have picked up patterns of repetition and summary to reinforce ideas being conveyed. I, myself, learn best by doing. Through studying adult learning styles, I discovered that studies show utilizing all facets of learning - writing, audio, visual, and hands on - leads to the highest levels of retention. I teach by 1) talking by the student to determine his or her best learning style and 2) utilizing the various methods listed above so that the student can retain the maximum amount of information through his or her best learning style.

I have a B.A. in Accounting as I have a great passion for the financial world. I have always LOVED math as I feel it gives me a great sense of accomplishment when I am able to take a problem that I've been given and find a solution. I have just finished my first year in the MFA-Fiction program at The University of Montana where I also worked as a Teaching Assistant in the English department. As a Teaching Assistant, I taught Basic Composition to undergraduates. Teaching one section of composition each semester, I was responsible for lesson plans, running hour long class periods, grading student essays, holding student conferences, and attending various teaching workshops with my fellow TAs.
