I am a very participative facilitator. I like to actively engage the students with the subject matter at hand, bringing into the discussion real world experiences and tapping into the experiences of the students in order to "bring the message home". I first seek to understand the students' goals and objectives, strengths and weaknesses and go from there. It frequently requires modifying content and rate of teaching based on the students' learning levels. My teaching style is very much like my personality. I am goal oriented and I like to help students set goals and see them achieve them. More About This Tutor...

I first started to study music when I was 11 years old. I grew a love for the clarinet and played for many years in middle school and high school. In college, I majored in clarinet and also studied all wind/percussion instruments as well as piano. I obtained my BA instrumental teaching degree (K-12) through Western Carolina University in June of 2003. Through the years, I have had the privilage and pleasure of teaching band in a classroom setting, marching band, and private lessons.
The reason I became a teacher was to transfer my love of music to my students and also to see the joy of their successes. There is nothing like seeing the smile of success on a students face. I care greatly for all students that I have taught and will teach.
