A Little Bit About Me...

Teach the student, not the lesson.
I lived in Brasil for a year and a half. I speak fluent Portuguese and have taught English to native Brasilians and Portuguese to Americans. I also worked in a Brasilian cafe for a year upon return to the United States, where clients thought I was a Brasilian. I teach in a way that the student can learn based on their specific needs, not based on a manual.

I began teaching private guitar lessons while I was still in High School. While working on my Bachelor's degree in Columbus Ohio I taught guitar and tutored Spanish. In 2002, I moved to Florida where I began working on my MA in Adult and Secondary Education with a concentration in Spanish. I have completed the requirements of that MA degree but have not applied to graduate in that I am taking MA level courses in TESOL to allow for a second concentration under the same Masters' degree. I have been tutoring Spanish, Portuguese, writing and English for Speakers of Other Languages at UNF for the last seven semesters.
