My comments on tutoring Psychology : Have experience in providing individual and group tutoring college students for general psychology courses.

My first focus in on developing rapport with the student and also discussing what they (or their parent/s) may be looking for from a tutor. I like to take a positive and developmental approach which focuses on building in goals and building on the success of those goals. Also finding out how the student learns or likes to learn, and assessing what has been successful/not so successful in the past for learning a subject. I like to end each session with of review of the student relaying what he or she has learned, as this can really help with retention of information.

I have a BA in psychology and have worked for 12 years in the mental health field. I am currently working on getting my Elem. I have always had a passion for helping others learn. In high school I tutored students from different schools in math. After graduating with two bachelor's degrees from the University of Minnesota I began working full time as a financial analyst for Target Corporation. I have worked mainly with children, but enjoy teaching all ages. I tend to take a systematic approach and keep my lessons structured.
