Every child has a window of time when learning to write and read is at its peak. I’ve observed this can begin as early as three or four years of age. Yet the child who discovers his/her fascination with language at the age of eight is no less gifted. When it comes to math I have found that most people who have trouble with math have simply missed some fundamental along the way. It is extremely rewarding to figure out what that is and fill in that hole. I teach by breaking problems down and asking easier questions that lead to the answer.
