My BA was earned at a small, independent, private college in Los Angeles. My major is in English, with a minor in Psychology and Sociology. I have a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, which was completed in 18 months. I have also passed the following educational tests in the state of California: CBEST, CSET (Multiple Subject), and RICA. (Reading Instruction Comprehensive Assessment). My experience at the community college and public school classroom includes a wide range of diverse teaching experiences from high achieving Japanese to Hispanic low performing students seventh graders I have excelled at teaching all levels of ethnically, academically and physically diverse students. The procedure I follow in tutoring is to first attack is to find out where any understanding difficulty lies. Then, I write the rules out. Next I work 2-3 problems applying the rules as we proceed step by step. Under my tutledge, I have the student work 2-3 problems on their own. When the student can, at least, master the basic problems, then we move on to the next area of difficulty. Every one can succeed at some level.

I was a foster parent for fourteen years in which I spent numerous hours with each child weekly working with them to improve their academic skills. I taught a 4th/5th grade class in the 2006/2007 school year. I graduated with a 3.92 GPA where I excelled as a writer. I currently write the company newsletter at my place of employment. I believe that with proper classroom management and an interesting delivery of lessons, every student has the potential to learn and achieve academic success.
