A Little Bit About Me...

As a Weber State graduate, I majored in Zoology and minored in Chemistry. Even though science has always been a passion of mine, I am very knowledgeable in math. During my undergraduate studies, I have gained even more experience and improved on my grammatical skills. I had the opportunity to be an Anatomy lab instructor for three semesters. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to tutor my wife with her math. At first, this was a challenge. Math is a subject where one cannot only rely on memory. I found that it's best to be very patient and teach the processes of mathematic principles, rather than just assume the person whom you're tutoring knows these processes.

I recently finished a double-major in college and maintained a GPA of 3.75. I took many education courses throughout my college career in obtaining my degree in Childrens' Studies. I have helped tutor in biology, earth science, social studies, English, algebra, reading, and Spanish.
I absolutely love working with kids and teens. I believe that all children want to experience success, but each might define "success" a little bit differently. I completed my bachelors of science in biology from Mesa State College, after which I went on to receive my masters degree in evolutionary biology from The University of Texas at Arlington. I then pursued a Ph.D from Brigham Young University. Although I completed all my coursework and my comprehensive exams and was approximately 80% done with my dissertation, I opted to leave the program to pursue my passion of teaching.
