My comments on tutoring Biology : I have taught all levels of biology including PreAP and AP.

My teaching style varies according to the needs of the student.
My teaching experience includes over twenty years in Texas public schools. I have taught science to grades six through twelve that include AP Biology, PreAP Biology, Biology, AP Chemistry, PreAP Chemistry, Chemistry, GMO, and Environmental Science. My mathematics experience includes seven years of teaching seventh and eighth grade mathematics, as well as Algebra I. I have also had success STAAR and Algebra I EOC exams.

A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my undergraduate years, I was recognized as an outstanding student and held the maximum number of teaching assistant positions every semester. I often met students in the library to hold tutoring groups, and I handed out my phone number in case someone needed my help anytime. I am currently working on my teachers certification, and my long term goal is to teach high school science. I have a passion for education and science, and I believe that my purpose for benefiting humankind is to train the future men and women of our country.
My preferred method of teaching is hands-on, through real experiments. Unfortunately, experiments cannot always be done, so I use lots of illustrations and age-appropriate analogies that are easy to relate to. I also taught English as a Second Language to adults. I am an Adult reading tutor for adults who could not read. I taught mathematics, vocabulary and biology to high school graduates preparing to take the nursing entrance exam at Vernon College. I also taught basic computer classes in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite for Vernon College's Wichita Falls campus for 4 years. I had one or two evening classes each semester.
