I assisted ESL students in various academic subjects since middle school. My first official tutoring position start in the fall 2007, where I tutored students in college-level French and high-school math. My studies abroad in France allowed me to become fluent in the language. In addition to offering private lessons, I have also taught Chinese Schools on the weekends for over 4 yrs. I was an English teacher during my most recent stay in France and I've tutored Accounting at Houston Community College. As an English teacher, I taught not only grammar and comprehension specifically to students that had issues with the grammar of English, but I also was involved in teaching Shakespeare to the students as well as many different forms of English literature. I try to avoid lecture in teaching. For me, personally, instruction comes from helping the student understand the material on their own without having to directly be told everything.
