I have taught as a tutor in High School, and college. I also taught in the adult education system of Fairborn, Ohio. I have acted as a group home monitor for MR/DD adults. I am presently tutoring a young adult in cost control and algebra.
I tailor my teaching style to the student. I first evaluate where the student is by building rapport, discussing the problem he/she is having, talking to the teacher, and talking to the parents. I love children and I love teaching children. I teach using a variety of methods. I have learned that children have different ways of learning. Some children are visual learners so I used plenty of visual aids when teaching these children. Some children are kinetic learners so I made sure that I used manipulatives when teaching these children. I believe that all children have a "best way" to learn.
